For hundreds of years, the cello has been delighting listeners with its warm, living tones and rich sounds that resemble the range of human voice pitch. ABOUT THE PRESENTER
India George completed her master’s degree in cello performance from the University of Manitoba (2020) studying with Dr. Minna Rose Chung, where she was the recipient of the Desautels Scholarship. Her undergraduate work was done at the Royal Welsh College of Music in Cardiff, UK, her home country. During this degree, India had many performance opportunities in both chamber and orchestral settings. In April 2019, she was a member of the string orchestra for Michael Bublé’s ‘Love’ tour at BellMTS Place in Winnipeg. She now plays as one half of the Gigman Duo, a Cello and Guitar ensemble providing music for concerts and events with a varied set list.
