Impressionism, although associated with France, influenced art in many other countries. Although it crossed the Atlantic, until recently no acknowledgment has been made of its influence on Canadian artists. In this survey, we will look at artists who drew inspiration from impressionism including Maurice Cullen, James Wilson Morrice, Clarence Alphonse Gagnon, Marc-Aurele de Foy Suzor Cote, Laura Muntz Lyall, and Helen
MacNicoll. (no class Nov 11)
