India truly is a land of varieties be it Indian cuisine, culture or its
fabrics. Silk is one of the popular materials for the national dress
Sari. There are at least eight different types of silk made in India.
The national dress, the Sari is often hand-woven, the material, colour combination and designs being characteristic of each region. In this unique workshop, participants will learn about various types
of silks as well as designs created by craftsmen. The participants
will have the opportunity to see and feel the silk, appreciate
different styles of hand embroidery as well as designing in the
form of Sari and scarves.
